I think I have figured out the first lesson. I had a conversation with Daniel C. today. He helped me think it through. My goal is to build each of these lessons on a narrative from the Gospels, so people hear the actual words of Jesus.
The first lesson will be about assurance from John 3: How can I know I am saved?
What questions do you have about faith in Jesus?
Who are the people in your life?
Who might be interested in having assurance of their salvation?
The second lesson will be about the Samaritan woman: How can I bring people to Jesus?
My story, God's story, to the feet of Jesus.
The third lesson will be about the Great Commission: How do I follow Jesus?
Baptism.
7 (8?) commands of Jesus.
Who is ready to be baptized?
The fourth lesson will introduce the Lord's Supper: How are we nourished?
First communion (led by person of peace).
The fourth lesson will introduce what it means to be a church. I am not sure where it will come from:
How do we gather?
Hand diagram. I don't think I will include the list of "What?" That list overwhelmed me. I will figure out another way to go through the work of the church.
The fifth lesson will take us back to the first field from Luke 10: How do I enter the field?
I think these are a good start. Obviously, they need a little more work. Tomorrow night is the first time we will get together with what could become our first house church! Come on, God, let's do this!
