I can't tell you how excited I am about our groups getting started. Hopefully, next Tuesday will be our first group to meet. Tim has had a friend, James, he has been talking with about faith for quite some time, but he has not found a church. This could be our perfect first opportunity. I have already asked all of you to pray, so I'm sure you are praying and God is working.
I guess the thing that excites me most about the groups we are starting is that in twenty years of serving in a pastoral position, I have never seen something that I truly believe has God-sized potential. Don't get me wrong, I love our church more than I can express, but I know the limitations churches face. Now, we have a chance to beat those with groups that rapidly disciple believers and rapidly reproduce.
Keep praying! Ask God to help us understand how to put a process of discipleship in place that enables groups to rapidly reproduce. Ask God to give us wisdom about presenting a vision that the Spirit uses to drive our groups to become a force changing our cities for Christ.
